Recently I had the opportunity to chat with Maria of the podcast, Mennonite Girls in a Modern World. Being a guest on the podcast to share about my book, Grow. Cook. Eat. Share. A Memoir was an added bonus. Having the chance to connect with a fellow Mennonite girl, and touch on how our Mennonite heritage influences our faith, the arts, caring for creation and being drawn to a homesteading lifestyle was the highlight of our conversation. I appreciated her thoughtful questions and her warm candor.
If you have not yet heard of this podcast, I encourage you to have a listen. Maria and her co-host Deanna cover a variety of subjects from strange Mennonite foods and holiday traditions, to misconceptions of who Mennonites are, and on a more serious note, the often hidden cases of abuse that occur within Mennonite communities. It is a podcast hosted by two Mennonite women, about Mennonites, for Mennonites and anyone else interested in learning about current Mennonite culture.
I hope you enjoy listening to my conversation with Maria.
